Pixwall privacy policy
Last updated October 6, 2026.
Pixwall is a Shopify app that shows a merchant's Instagram posts on their online store. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- From Shopify: the store's domain and an access token so the app can work in the store's admin, and the IDs and handles of products a merchant tags on a post. We do not access or store customer or order data.
- From Instagram: when a merchant connects an Instagram Business or Creator account, we receive the account's ID and username, an access token, and the account's posts (images, videos, captions, links and dates).
How we use it
Only to display the merchant's posts on their own store and to let shoppers buy tagged products. We copy post images to our storage so they load quickly on the store. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the infrastructure providers that host the app.
Security
Instagram access tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is restricted.
Retention and deletion
- Disconnecting Instagram in the app deletes the account's token and copied posts.
- Uninstalling the app deletes all data for the store.
- Removing Pixwall from your Instagram settings revokes our access. You can also request deletion through Instagram, and we delete the account's data immediately.
- Posts deleted or archived on Instagram are removed at the next hourly sync.
